Google Multiplatform Chief Sundar Pichai explains at D11 his openness to the BlackBerry 10 platform, simply states as the user base grows so will the interest and plans to build Google apps on the BlackBerry 10 platform grow as well. This is not however a on the “to do list” currently for Google but just like building for any other platform, once the user base grows so does the interest on any company building apps.

Sundar Pichai head of Android and Chrome apps at Google spoke briefly with Walt Mossberg on how to gain Google’s interest as far as developing for a platform outside of Android and iOS:

We want to reach as many people as possible. For platforms that don’t have that many users at scale, we have great HTML5 apps. If they get more users, we will make apps.

Who knows, maybe we could see native Google Apps on BlackBerry 10 sooner than later, possibly the much requested native Google Maps for BlackBerry 10. Google’s Eric Schmidt is Team BlackBerry, it is only reasonable that Google jumps on board and starts its development for BlackBerry 10.
