DirecTV Customers Get 1 Year Free Service By Switching To Sprint

Sprint is now offering DirecTV customers 1 year of free service if they switch to their network between August 28th and September 30th. The deal is available to new Sprint customers or current customers who add a new line of service.

In addition, the carrier is also paying up to $300 for your old (working) phone.

How to become eligible for the free year of service

  1. Upload your recent DirecTV bill to – www.sprint.com/directvoffer
  2. After, head over to Sprint.com or call Sprint Telesales and enquire about the offer.

The promotion is most likely due to the AT&T and DirecTV merger to draw customers away from one of the largest cellphone carriers in the US :

“Don’t get locked into the high prices of AT&T for your wireless service.
Switch to Sprint and get your first 12 months of service FREE.”

After the 12 months of free service, you will be required to pay to continue using the Sprint service :

1 line = $50
2 lines = $90
3 lines = $120
4 lines = $150
5 lines = $180

Of course, nothing is totally free in life. Similar to most offers, there is a catch. Even though you’re getting one year’s worth of free service from Sprint with this offer, you will still be required to pay off the bill for your device, as well as pay a $36 activation fee + taxes.
