Developers: BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition and Dev Alpha C Update

For those developers wondering when they will receive their BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition devices, Alex Kinsella from over at the BlackBerry Dev Blog updates us. Apart from the BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition devices, we also got an update on the Dev Alpha C device with a physical keyboard. See the top questions from developers asked on Twitter answered below:

Q. I applied for a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha C at BlackBerry Jam Europe. When will those devices ship?

BlackBerry Jam Europe attendees will be contacted this week with details about the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha C device program. The devices will ship to developers that qualify for the program within the next five to seven weeks.

Q. I applied online for a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha C. When do I find out if I qualified?

The applications are currently being tested and once this is done the points will be calculated and an email to those that qualify will be sent with further instructions for redeeming Dev Alpha C device. This should be done by February 28.

Q. I applied for the BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition device, but haven’t received a confirmation email yet. When will I receive that?

We are currently working through the backlog of registrations. All registrations need to be validated against the terms and conditions and once this is completed you will receive an email with your qualification status. This can take ten business days from when your application is approved for sale in BlackBerry World.

Q. I’ve qualified for the BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition device – when will they ship?

They will begin to ship within the next five to seven weeks.

For those  wondering about the January Port-A-Thon’s there will be an update soon on that. As BlackBerry is currently focusing on making their BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition devices for devs as promised.
