Earlier today we let you all know what Michael Clewley has been sharing with us on his BBM channel. Well before he signed off for the day he posted one last item that did not make it into that post, so here it is. BlackBerry will be bringing remote search for an IMAP account to the 10.3 OS. This basically means that even if messages are no longer on your device they are still available to you.

If any of you still aren’t sure what all this means here is a quick description.

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a network protocol used to access e-mail messages while they are still stored on the server. It supports a client server view of the world. This means that IMAP lets you access messages stored in a remote folder as if it were a local folder. This includes copying, moving, reading, and deleting messages.

I don’t know what any of you are thinking but to me it really does seem like BlackBerry has been listening to what the customers are asking for. I’m really looking forward to the 10.3 OS. Thanks goes out to Michael Clewley for sharing all this info with everyone.
