BBM updated for BB10, iOS and Android – brings Private Chat out of Beta and more!

BBM

BBM for BlackBerry 10, iOS and Android have all received updates today in their respective app stores, bringing the Private Chat feature out of beta and into the hands of the public. Other new features include the already known sticker pack control, ability to quote a message and a whole new design for Android users.

Private Chat allows for users to discuss anything they want in pure privacy which includes no profile names, no display pictures and destruction after a short period of time!

As you will see below, Zach is trying to fake being sick, the screenshot below proves this, despite Zach sending the message as a timed one.

However, the conversation between Jesse and Zach could be more private if Zach turns on the private chat feature. As you can see below, all their sensitive information is hidden, completely.

Private Chat is included in the new Privacy and Control Subscription, which replaces the existing Timed and Retracted Messages Subscription.

Included in the Privacy and Control Subscription, you get:

  • Private Chat
  • Timed messages and pictures
  • Retract messages and pictures
  • Edit Message (Which is also new to the subscription. Made a mistake? Now you can retract it, change it, and send your message again.)

The Privacy and Control bundle is $0.99 per month, and for me, it’s already paid for itself.

Current Timed and Retracted Messages subscribers will be automatically upgraded at no additional cost.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab the update ASAP.
