Why should I be careful when upgrading my device OS?

BBM 5.0 is bundled with BlackBerry device operating system software. When upgrading your device, BBM 6 may be overwritten with the bundled version of BBM (currently BBM v5.0.2.12). This may cause BBM Music not to work. The ensure BBM Music keeps working, please re-install the specified version of BBM 6 and BBM Music after upgrading your device OS.

Can I invite my friends to join and test with me?

Yes! BBM Music is a social music application, and you need to connect with other BBM Music Beta Testers to test and enjoy the application. If you know someone  who may want to join, send them the link to the registration form, or enter their details in our Invite a Friend Form.

I don’t know anyone/many people on the program to test with. How can I test and share music?

The BBM Music Beta Project Team will facilitate connections for testers who don’t know many people on the program. You can also start a BBM group based on your favorite music/genre/artist, etc. by posting on the discussion forum.

Why is it important that I use an SD card?

Without an SD card in your device, the BBM Music app will not cache songs. This may cause you to incur significant data charges. Please take steps to obtain an SD card for your device if you don’t already have one.

Can I specify whether the service should only run on Wi-Fi?

Yes, there is an option available to set your app to use Wi-Fi only.

Why am I getting stuck at “2 of 4” during the registration process

The development team is aware of this issue where some users get stuck at “2 of 4” or receive a “Server is unavailble” message when trying to register the app. To reduce the issue, please avoid upgrading your device OS. When this happens, in most OS updates you’ll be downgraded to BBM 5.0 automatically.  This seems to be  a key contributor to the “2 of 4” issue, even if you upgrade to BBM 6.0 again right away.

If you do get stuck at step 2 of 4 during registration, please wait and re-try the registration after 15 minutes.
