RIM CIO Robin Bienfait Announces Her Retirement

RIM’s Chief Information Officer, Robin Bienfait, will retire at the end of this year, the company announced. Bienfait has been with RIM for six years and even though she is leaving her position she’ll continue to work with RIM in an advisory position during the transition to the new mobile operating system, BlackBerry 10, that will launch early next year.

First BlackBerry 10 phone to be named Z10?

What flew off as rumors yesterday about the first BlackBerry 10 device’s name has taken a turn and has left a lot of people confirming that the rumored name is official. The leak came from Unwired View saying, unofficially, the BlackBerry L-Series would be named  BlackBerry Z10 after launch. According to the leak, RIM is dropping its traditional four digits modeling to simple alphabets followed by OS number.

So I just thought I would give you a lil tutorial on how to search for people, pages, events or groups on Facebook using your BlackBerry browser. Why? Well I like to believe that Facebook search is a social search engine and if you wanna look for somebody that’s the one place to find them. Yes you could use the Facebook app, but I prefer this method as it gives a better search functionality and options.

Quite a number of BlackBerry users will concur that the maps application is one of the most important apps on our smartphones and I’m here to propose functionality I would very much like to see in the BlackBerry 10 Maps app.
